Luxury Sri Lanka Escape: A 9-Day Private Luxury Tour
Nine days across Sri Lanka’s finest addresses — a seaplane into the Cultural Triangle, a Relais & Châteaux tea bungalow in the highlands, leopard country at Yala, and the clifftops of the south coast. Privately guided throughout.
Your Nine Days, Day by Day
Day 1 — Arrival · The Wallawwa, Negombo
Fast-track arrival assistance at Colombo airport, then a fifteen-minute private transfer to The Wallawwa, a restored 18th-century manor in three acres of gardens. The afternoon is deliberately empty: an Ayurvedic wellness consultation and signature spa ritual to reset after the flight, followed by dinner in the garden, built around produce from the estate.

Day 2 — Seaplane to the Cultural Triangle · Uga Ulagalla
A morning seaplane sector lifts you over the island’s interior and lands you in the Cultural Triangle in around forty minutes — the road takes over four hours. Check in to Uga Ulagalla, a 58-acre ancestral estate of villas with private pools. Explore the property’s paddy fields on horseback or by bicycle; sunset drinks by the reservoir with peacocks and hornbills for company.

Day 3 — Sigiriya at dawn · village table at night
Climb Pidurangala Rock before sunrise for a private summit breakfast facing Sigiriya’s rock fortress — the classic view, without the crowds. After a restful afternoon, the day ends with a kamatha dinner: a traditional meal served on a threshing floor amid the paddy fields, lit by oil torches.

Day 4 — Into the highlands · Ceylon Tea Trails, Hatton
Travel south by private vehicle (or optional domestic flight, season permitting) into tea country, climbing past waterfalls into the Bogawantalawa Valley. Your home for two nights is Ceylon Tea Trails, a Relais & Châteaux collection of restored planters’ bungalows — butler service, high tea on the lawn, and a five-course dinner paired with estate teas.

Day 5 — The Pekoe Trail · tea with a maker
A private morning walk on a short loop of the Pekoe Trail with a resident guide, through working estates and montane forest. In the afternoon, a tasting session at the bungalow led by a tea specialist — from Silver Tips to estate-grade black teas. The copper bathtub overlooking Castlereagh Reservoir is the evening’s only appointment.

Day 6 — South to leopard country · Wild Coast Tented Lodge, Yala
Descend from the highlands to the island’s south-east corner, where Wild Coast Tented Lodge’s cocoon suites sit between jungle and the Indian Ocean. An afternoon bush walk with one of the lodge’s resident naturalists introduces the terrain — tracks, calls and the habits of the leopards you’ll look for tomorrow. Sundowners on the dunes, dinner under the stars.

Day 7 — Yala on safari
A full morning in Yala National Park in a private, photography-configured 4×4 with an expert tracker-naturalist, focused on the park’s famously dense leopard population. Lunch back at the lodge (or a picnic where park rules allow), an infinity-pool afternoon, and an evening conservation talk by the lodge’s resident naturalist on Yala’s leopards and the lodge’s monitoring work.

Day 8 — The southern coast · Cape Weligama
Westward along the coast to Cape Weligama, Relais & Châteaux clifftops above the Indian Ocean. In season (November–April), an optional responsibly operated whale-watching excursion seeks out blue whales off Mirissa; a scenic coastal flight can be arranged as an alternative. At twilight, a private walking tour of Galle Fort’s ramparts and lanes, finishing at a chef’s table inside the Fort.

Day 9 — Departure
A final clifftop morning — yoga above the bay if you wish — then a private transfer to Colombo airport with fast-track departure assistance. Seaplane or road, depending on your flight time.

Journey Overview
This journey is built around five of Sri Lanka’s most distinctive addresses, linked by the island’s most comfortable connections. You begin in the gardens of an 18th-century manor near the airport, fly into the Cultural Triangle by seaplane rather than spending half a day on the road, and slow down on a 58-acre ancestral estate within reach of Sigiriya. The highlands follow — a colonial-era tea bungalow with a butler and a working estate at the door — before the landscape changes entirely at Yala, where tented luxury sits between jungle and ocean. You finish on the clifftops above Weligama Bay, with Galle Fort at twilight as the closing scene.
Every element is privately operated: one dedicated chauffeur-guide for the road sectors, resident naturalists at the lodges, and a Sai Zooms journey manager on call throughout. The itinerary below is the framework — dates, room categories and experiences are tailored to you before anything is confirmed.
